Hubei Provincial Library was founded in 1904 by Zhang Zhidong and is the earliest provincial public library established in my country. The old library is located at the southern foot of Snake Mountain in Wuchang, with a building area of nearly 30,000 square meters and a total collection of more than 4 million volumes (items), including more than 450,000 rare ancient books, and nearly 50 subject (field) documents reaching or approaching research level level.
